How
May I Help You?
February is often a time that the
word engage pops up. Ha Ha. We know you want to engage your
students
with learning too. Technology helps you engage your students. We have visited many of your classrooms
and are constantly amazed at the care you provide your students.
It is very evident that you truly love your little charges. It
shows in everything you do for them. We would like to help you to
provide the very best for your students. Please email us so we can be a
part of the loving care you give your students. Our email addresses are:

Podcasting
Podcasting is a term used to describe a
combination of hardware and software used to distribute audio and video
content online. Similar to broadcast radio, this technology has rapidly
gained the interest of innovative educators. There are many ways you
can use podcasting to extend your students' learning. Podcasts
enable students and teachers to share information with anyone anytime.
If a student is absent, he or she can download the podcast of the
recorded lesson. It can be a tool for teachers or administrators to
communicate curriculum, assignments and other information with parents
and the community. Teachers can record book talks, vocabulary or
foreign language lessons, international pen pal letters (podcast
pals!), music performance, interviews, debates. Podcasting can be a
publishing tool for student oral presentations.
Although the term podcast was originally
coined by combining the word broadcast with Apple's Ipod, don't be
fooled. You do not need an Ipod to listen to a podcast. All
you need is a computer. And the web is filled with educational
podcasts already. You can download some and listen to them on
your own pc. OR you could burn them to a cd and play them on your
cd player. Plan to meet with your ITRT about creating your own
student podcasting project.
I am looking forward to working with several teachers who are
interested in creating music podcasts with their younger
students. In the meantime, check out these podcast sites:
