How May I Help You?

Just where did the summer go?  Did your summer fly as fast as mine did?  I hope you had a wonderful, and revitalizing, summer.  I am looking forward to working with you this year!  If there is anything I can do to make your job easier, please let me know.

During the first couple of weeks, I plan on checking in with you during your planning time.  Each nine weeks I would like to work with at least one person in your grade level on a technology integrated lesson.  The lesson will focus on content that you are covering in class.  During the first couple of weeks, maybe your grade level and I can decide on with whom I will work with first, what content needs to be covered and when we can do the lesson.  Please share the lesson we do with others in your grade level.  We can also count the lesson we do together as a professional development.

Since all of you in grades 3-5 now have smart boards, maybe we could do a smart board lesson together.

If you have any suggestions, questions, comments or concerns, please email me and let me know.  My email address is mlewis@amherst.k12.va.us.

I am really looking forward to working with you this year!
Melanie

For Fun
These are two paper models I found on Fiddler's Green.  They have a ton of paper models!  Most will cost you but there are a few which are free.  Fifth grade teachers:  they have a whole village from the old west, including a covered wagon.  This is a free set.  It would be nice to print out, put together and use during your unit on moving west.  What a great way to involve your tactile students!
