IT CAN BE FUN TO REVIEW!

How May I Help You!

When it's time to review, are you tired of the same old, same old?  Put some fun into your review with PowerPoints and games.  I'd be glad to help you learn how to use the resources we have to put together engaging lessons your students will beg to take part in.    Just send me an email to set up a time!

If you are planning a field trip, I would be happy to go along and photograph your day.  What an awesome way to help your students recall the learning that has taken place!  I can show you how to turn the digital pictures into great teaching tools.

"Perfectly Puddy-Ful"

Gail Moore has created several 2nd grade Inspiration Documents.  One is entitled Life Cycles.  She and Betsy have also created a Power Point directed differentiated lesson for fourth grade on Plants.  This too has been put in Puddy.  Please ask me if you want a copy of this lesson

Keyboard Shortcuts

When the techs come in and start moving around the desktop so quickly, does that make your head spin?  The link below will take you to a page which has tons of keyboard shortcuts.  Pretty Awesome!

PRE K TO ?:  This is an incredible site to use in teaching all aspects of English.  It uses a Flash Plug In to keep students actively involved with fun learning activities.  This would make a great center activity or could be done in the computer lab.  This is also great to use with ESL or ELL students.

K TO 5:  During testing and at the end of the year, schedules change and things get out of the routine.  Here are some great educational time fillers you can use for those off times.  This site helps to turn "down time" into learning time.

Resource Sites for Testing

Since test time is approaching, this may be a site someone might like to use for practice.

Edinformatics list of all the state sites for practice and released test items.

J-Lab also has practice questions for math and science.  The last page of the test provides a record.  The student can add their name and print out the record for scoring.

Texas Released Items- printable and online interactive versions

Tami Maloney's site is wonderful!

I am starting a test prep page.  It is very sparten right now but I will be adding to it as I can.

Since April Is The Month for Showers, Here Are

Testing Tips from Noah

One: Don't miss the boat.
Two: Remember that we are all in the same boat.
Three: Plan ahead. It wasn't raining when Noah built the Ark.
Four: Stay fit. When you're 600 years old, someone may ask you to do something really big.
Five: Don't listen to critics; just get on with the job that needs to be done.
Six: Build your future on high ground.
Seven: For safety's sake, travel in pairs.
Eight: Speed isn't always an advantage. The snails were on board with the cheetahs.
Nine: When you're stressed, float a while.
Ten: Remember, the Ark was built by amateurs; the Titanic by professionals.

EARTH DAY POEM
by Jane Yolen

I am the Earth
And the Earth is me.
Each blade of grass,
Each honey tree,
Each bit of mud,
And stick and stone
Is blood and muscle,
Skin and bone.
And just as I
Need every bit
Of me to make
My body fit,
So Earth needs
Grass and stone and tree
And things that grow here
Naturally.
That's why we
Celebrate this day.
That's why across
The world we say:
As long as life,
As dear, as free,
I am the Earth
And the Earth is me.
