Porta-Portals
are great ways to keep your links safe no matter what computer you are
on. I would be happy to show you how to create a
porta-portal. You might even wish to have your students create
portals. You could assign them to surf the web to find safe links
for research projects. Or you could differentiate their projects
by the links you post for them. If you want more information on

(Note: This comes up as a red screen
on the ACPS network. Please only check this when not at
work. There is nothing wrong with this site, ACPS has a policy of
blocking social networking sites.)
Whyville
Lately I have had some personal issues with Whyville. I
recommended it to a teacher. When she checked it out, there were
folks on it using very inappropriate language. Be careful with
this site. I haven't gone back since then.
Stumbleupon is a wonderful add on for
Firefox. Check out my Stumbleupon

With this plug in I sign up for certain categories and when I hit a
Stumbleupon button on my toolbar, I get a random page that is tagged
under one of my chosen categories. (Cannot be accessed on the
ACPS server.)
